So last night I broke the rules.
Not just one or two either, pretty much all of them.
Here’s the gist.
Last night I went out with some friends because on of them has just landed a new job he’d been working towards for a while now.
So, we decided to go celebrate.
And as such, the beer flowed like water and junky, deep-fried foods were laid out as far as the eye could see.
Now of course as much as I like to eat well and avoid drinking too much to stop cold sores from ruining my life, I couldn’t really not participate.
Nor did I really want to…
So I did indeed have a few too many beers and stuffed my face with crap food until I felt like I was going to explode. Heck, my burger alone last night had beef AND bacon AND italian sausage AND cheese AND… ahh the glory.
Twas a grand ol’ time.
But this morning, I feel pretty shiddy.
Yes, I know, I know.
For all the preaching about the importance of following the guidelines in Cold Sore Control to prevent outbreaks, that makes me quite the hypocrite indeed.
But that’s ok and here’s why.
Because I actually do follow the rules most of the time, a few meals here and there where I don’t follow them isn’t going to trigger ridiculously large and uncomfortable outbreaks.
I know for a fact that I probably won’t get an outbreak just because of one little evening of partying.
The problems come when junk food and alcohol are part of your routine rather than the exception to it.
Granted, today I’m getting right back on track. Clean eating and all.
So it’s not that important if you fall off once in a while. In fact, I encourage it.
The whole point of preventing cold sores is so that you can have a life without having to constantly worry about triggering outbreaks.
But the rest of the time, you have to follow the rules. And learn them here you can:
Just always remember, rules are meant to be broken.
