Last night was a difficult one.
You see, I went to a family reunion where there was far too much food and far too much booze.
It was glorious.
But it was also painful.
You know when you’re full but you keep eating just because the food is to damn good?
I know, I know. First world problems, right?
And I got to hang out with my cousin (which I don’t nearly see enough of) and we kept drinking into the wee hours of the morning.
Yeah. That was me last night.
So needless to say, today I feel a little like crap.
And I know that my immune system is cursing me and my evil ways.
With all the alcohol and sugar I ate last night, I just know that I put myself at risk of getting a big nasty outbreak.
But I came prepared. I know I won’t be getting a big nasty cold sore this time (it has happened many time in the past after a feast of epic proportions).
How did I do it?
I followed the “scripture” in Cold Sore Control.
I fasted the whole day before the feast.
Not a crumb of food traveled down my gluttonous throat yesterday, before around dinner time that is.
That way I know that my immune system was in a prime position to defend me, despite overloading it with sugar and booze.
It’s a balancing act really.
So if you’ve got an upcoming feast and don’T want to avoid all the delicious foods on display, go forth and learn:

And apply.
No need to be a downer at the party, even though your family IS bad for your health…
